The main goal was to visually represent the most striking minimalist compositions of this style, in an infinite way – in a loop. Each book is a response to a minimalist composition, simulating the method that was used to create the original composition. The graphic part was also inspired by minimalist art works. The books are complemented with a digital part which illustrates the relationship between sound and image. The aim was to explore the limits of the object book how we know it, the visual representation of sound, and the idea that ruled minimalism of “variation through repetition”.
From top to bottom, the peices represented are “It’s gonna rain” by Steve Reich,”In C” by Terry Reily, and “Piano phase” by Steve Reich.
